Surgeries

The Documentary Film Council, FLAMIN, LUX, The Scottish Documentary Institute, and T A P E Collective will be hosting one-to-one surgeries and drop-in sessions throughout the festival. Check below closer to the festival date for more information and details on how to book.

The Documentary Film Council is a democratically run, sector-wide organisation facilitating effective, coordinated action on the key issues in the UK’s independent documentary film industry.

FLAMIN (the Film London Artists’ Moving Image Network) was launched in 2005 as a one-stop resource to provide artists working in the moving image with access to funding, guidance and development opportunities.

Maggie Ellis, Duncan Poulton and Rose Cupit from FLAMIN will be hosting one-to-one surgeries which can be booked here.

LUX is the UK agency for the support and promotion of artists working with the moving image.

Benjamin Cook and Hanan Coumal from LUX will be hosting one-to-one surgeries in the Festival Hub.

Benjamin Cook, Director: speak to Ben about developing your practice and new projects, pitching ideas, funding, distribution, and exhibition.

Hanan Coumal, Distribution Director: talk to Hanan about distribution, fundraising strategies, and moving image industry advice.

There are four 40-minute slots available with both Hanan and Ben. Slots can be booked here.

The Scottish Documentary Institute was established in 2004 to nurture documentary filmmakers and audiences in Scotland and beyond. Alexandra Colta and Milda Valiulytė from the Scottish Documentary Institute will be hosting one-to-one surgeries in the Festival Hub which can be booked here.

T A P E Collective is a cross-art collective centring film who curate, distribute and produce films with a focus on the mixed heritage and dual identity experience.
