Make the most of your time at Open City Documentary Festival and register for accreditation to access events, screenings and networking opportunities from 8- 14 September in London and 13 – 23 September 2021 online.

Accredited guests receive access to films, workshops and networking opportunities throughout the festival, as well as full entry to our extensive talks and workshops programme and our online screening platform. We also offer discounted accreditation for students as well as complimentary accreditation for press.

Open City Documentary Festival creates an open space in London to nurture and champion the art of creative documentary and non-fiction filmmakers. Our talks and workshops programme is designed to give filmmakers and those working with documentary insight, support and inspiration through masterclasses and networking opportunities with industry professionals.

INDUSTRY ACCREDITATION

Regardless of what stage you are at with your career, our industry accreditation allows you to take full advantage of our programme and stay up to date with the latest developments in the industry. Suitable for aspiring documentarians looking to take the next step, as well as industry professionals looking for creative reinvigoration, our delegates receive access to films, talks and networking opportunities throughout the festival.

Industry accreditation provides free access to:

  • Ticket requests for public screenings and daily rush queue (subject to availability)
  • Invitation to Opening Night and Closing Night screenings (subject to availability)
  • All workshops, masterclasses and panel events running throughout the festival (except the Critics Workshop with Another Gaze)
  • Press & Industry screenings
  • The online screening platform featuring films from the festival’s main programme (not including retrospective programmes or special events). The online platform will be available from the 13th – 23rd of September and geo-blocked to the UK
  • Festival tote bag and festival catalogue
  • Daily networking social events and parties.

Industry accreditation costs £55. The closing date is 9AM on Monday 23 August 2021 (we cannot guarantee the processing of any applications submitted after this date).

STUDENT ACCREDITATION

We also offer accreditation for university undergraduate and graduate students (including those who are graduating in 2021). This type of accreditation grants free access to all of the events in the talks programme happening throughout the festival. Students also get access to the online screening platform.

Please note that student accreditation does not guarantee access to film screenings, and that it is subject to proof of status with student ID upon collecting the pass.

PRESS ACCREDITATION

Please note, press accreditation is restricted to critics and journalists. The accreditation is free of charge. The festival cannot cover travel or accommodation.

The press accreditation gives you access to and includes:

  • Ticket requests for public screenings and daily rush queue (subject to availability)
  • All workshops, masterclasses and panel events running throughout the festival (except the Critics Workshop with Another Gaze).
  • The online screening platform featuring films from the festival’s main programme (not including retrospective programmes or special events). The online platform will be available from the 13th – 23rd of September and geo-blocked to the UK.
  • Press & Industry screenings
  • Press kits
  • Festival tote bag and festival catalogue
  • Detailed guest list of talent attending
  • Daily networking socials and parties

The closing date is 9AM on Friday 13 August 2021 (we cannot guarantee the processing of any application submitted after this date).

Please note that due to the high demand for accreditations, we cannot automatically approve all applications.  All delegates will be informed if their application has been successful via email (sent to the email address provided on your application form) after the accreditation deadline.  Thank you for your patience while we process your request.

UCL STAFF ACCREDIATION

Please note, UCL staff accreditation is restricted to UCL employees only and is subject to proof of status with UCL ID upon collecting your pass.

UCL staff accreditation gives you access to and includes:

  • Ticket requests for public screenings and daily rush queue (subject to availability)

ONLINE SCREENING PASS

Our online pass gives you access to the festival’s online screening platform where you can watch films from the festival’s main programme along with pre-recorded director Q&As.

The platform will be available after the festival from 13 – 23 of September.

The online pass gives you access to:

  • The online screening platform featuring films from the festival’s main programme (not including retrospective programmes or special events).
  • Pre-recorded director Q&As.

Please note that online passes do NOT give you access to cinema screenings, talks and workshops, or social events during the “in person” festival dates 8 – 14 September.

Online passes go on sale when we announce our full programme on Wednesday 28 July 2021, along with cinema tickets.
