This session poses questions around the role of physicality and documentation of human bodies in non-fiction cinema. Artists and filmmakers will discuss how ideas of performance and the corporeal image informs their creative practice. Reflecting upon power dynamics implicit in the creation of the moving image, this conversation will frame the body as a site of cultural and political meaning and the capturing of it as a means of proposing a new visual language.

The discussion will be hosted by Niall Richardson and the panel will include Jade Montserrat, Lucy Clout and Michelle Williams Gamaker.
