Non-fiction cinema has always been concerned with concealing its own construction. This session will focus on what happens when this construction of reality is instead actively exposed. Questioning the role that performance plays in documentary film, this discussion will explore approaches to representing reality with a panel of filmmakers who engage with staging, scripting and re-enactment in their own creative practice. The session will be hosted by Elan Bogarín (306 Hollywood) and speakers will include Olivier Marboeuf and Louis Henderson (Ouvertures), Alexe Poukine (That Which Does Not Kill) and Lea Glob (Olmo & the Seagull, Venus).
