All films need to start somewhere but with every project the development process can look vastly different. This discussion will break down the process for three feature documentaries, looking at research, story development, and how they crafted their cinematic language, offering insight into a part of the filmmaking process that is often overlooked and under-funded. The session will be hosted by Samara Chadwick (filmmaker and independent curator) and speakers will include: Rubika Shah (White Riot),  Simón Uribe (Suspension)  and Roz Mortimer (The Deathless Woman).
