In 2015, demonstrations against Pierre Nkurunziza’s third term bring thousands to the streets of Bujumbura. As the violence gains ground many, including Eddy Munyaneza‘s own family, flee – but he picks up his camera.

Eventually seeking refuge in Senegal, Munyaneza goes in search of his family, along the way encountering those who stayed and those who chose the path of exile.

In partnership with Film Africa.

A filmmaker struggles to keep track of his family’s whereabouts as he documents the violence of Nkurunziza’s third term.
