Alliotts Media, Thursday 7th September, 11:00 – 13:00

Alliotts Media will be hosting 15 minute one-to-one advice sessions at the Festival Hub.  

Alliotts Media are a team of specialist accountants and tax advisors for Film and TV production, supporting businesses and individuals in the media space. Speak to them about everything from media accounting, tax, and audit services through to corporate finance advice. 

There are six 15-minutes slots available.

The Documentary Film Council, Thursday 7th September, 15:30 – 17:15

The DFC will be hosting 10-minute drop-in sessions at the Festival Hub. Sessions will be attended by Emily Copley (DFC Operations Manager & Acting CEO), Dr Steve Presence (DFC Founder Member & Consultant) and Dr Christo Wallers (DFC Consultant).  

The Documentary Film Council is a democratically run, sector-wide organisation facilitating effective, coordinated action on key issues in the UK’s independent documentary film industry. Come along to hear more about the DFC, share your thoughts on the below prompts, and find out how you can get involved:  

  • What are the major challenges facing the documentary industry right now in the UK? 
  • You have a magic wand for changing the documentary industry – what would you do with it? 
  • What specific work would you like to see the DFC supporting? 
  • What can the DFC do for you?

Sessions are on a drop-in basis, and no pre-booking is required. 

T A P E Collective – Meet-Your-Producer Speed Dating, Friday 8th September, 11:00 – 13:00

T A P E Collective will be hosting a Meet-Your-Producer Speed Dating event at the Festival Hub. 

T A P E Collective is a cross art collective centring film who curate, distribute and produce films with a focus on the mixed heritage and dual identity experience.  

A director/producer dream team can take years of searching and forced matchmaking, but it can also be love at first sight. In this Meet-Your-Producer speed dating event, directors and producers will be paired for a 15-minute sit down each before moving-on, giving participants a lively and varied encounter with professionals likewise looking for their match. 

The one-on-one sessions are conceived to build that one-of-a-kind collaborative relationship. Whether you’re looking to meet the one to work with on your next project, or just gain a better grasp of what it is you’re looking for and how to express it, the sessions will give you a taste of the forms the director-producer relationship can take.  

The session will include opportunities with six different producers, with 15 minutes available to speak with each producer. Participating producers will include: Tolu Stedford, Holly Whiston, Gannesh Rajah, Luke Moody, Denna Cartamkhoob and Antonia Luxem.

LUX, Saturday 9th September, 14:00 – 17:15

Benjamin Cook and Hanan Coumal from LUX will be hosting one-to-one surgeries in the Festival Hub. LUX is the UK agency for the support and promotion of artists working with the moving image.
