Masterclass: Mila Turajlic on Filming a Nation

Mila Turajlic will present a masterclass discussing her creative practice. Turajlic is a documentary filmmaker, visual artist and archive scholar born in Belgrade, (then) Yugoslavia. Her second feature The Other Side of Everything (2017) was HBO Europe’s first co-production with Serbia and won the IDFA Award for Best Documentary Film. Her debut feature doc, Cinema Komunisto (2010) played at over 100 festivals and won 16 awards. Her latest work is a series of archive-based video installations commissioned by MoMA. An archive researcher and scholar, Mila explores ways of engaging memory and history with found footage and obtained her PhD at the University in Westminster on the role of cinema in the construction of political narratives.
