Gathering, collaging: Moving image artists and other peoples’ archives
Close and careful collaboration runs deeply through the Open City programme, with many filmmakers working with their subjects on the basis of trust and shared storytelling. This panel aims to discuss the diffuse acts of assembly and re-inscription that are required when taking on the responsibilities, risks and advocacy involved in presenting experiences other than our own, sometimes across time and geographies.
Panellists will include:
Niki Kohandel, Filmmaker, Minevissam (I am Writing)
Rhea Storr, Filmmaker, Through A Shimmering Prism, We Made A Way & The Image That Spits, The Eye That Accumulates
Luke Fowler, Filmmaker, N’Importe Quoi (For Brunhild)
Ed Webb-Ingall (moderator) is a co-founder of The London Community Video Archive and is currently writing a book with the title BFI Screen Stories: The Story of Video Activism.
