Making films or artists’ moving image can be an incredibly isolating experience. The filmmaker meetup sessions are a chance to hang out, meet other artists and gossip about cameras, image making, potential collaborations, favourite art works and more in a relaxed and supportive environment.

Informally hosted by artists Therese Henningsen and Morgan Quaintance, the filmmaker meetups are inclusive, open to anyone who works with moving images and will continue monthly after their launch at Open City Documentary Festival.

For this first session the informal schedule is as follows:

15:00 – 15:15 Arrivals: time to grab a drink in the Festival Café and head upstairs to our room in the China Exchange.

15:15 – 15:30 Host Intros: Therese and Morgan will introduce the idea behind meet-ups and provide a bit of information about the regular monthly schedule.

15:30 – 16:00 Group Intros: A chance for everyone to introduce who they are and what they’re interested in.

16:00 – 17:30 Time to socialise: Time for us to get to know each other.

17:30 – 19:00: Optional Drinks: For those who want to stay, we can head downstairs to the Festival Café (first floor) for some drinks provided by the festival sponsors Brixton Brewery and Karma Drinks.
