Editor Masterclass: Anne Fabini

Editor Anne Fabini will be in conversation with Jakob Kirstein Hogel about her career and creative process. Anne Fabini has been editing notable feature films and documentaries since 1999. Her most recent work is the oscar-nominated documentary Of Fathers and Sons by Syrian director Talal Derki. Their collaboration dates back to his 2014 Sundance Film Festival World Documentary Grand Jury Award winner Return to Homs. Anne is part of the 2019 Spirit Awards nominated editing team of Jennifer Fox’s fiction film The Tale, and worked on Alyx Ayn Arumpac’s Aswang. She is the winner of the prestigious German Film Critics Award for Best Editing and her work has been nominated for Best Film Editing at the German Film Awards. winning a Lola in 2019 for Of Fathers and Sons. Anne is a member of the Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Science Editing Branch, and is on the Board of Governors of the German Film Academy. Passionate about passing on her knowledge, she hosts a series of lectures and talks on film editing at the Berlin film school dffb. She often works as story consultant and editing tutor at international documentary workshops and is a member of Rough Cut Service.
