First emerging in the 1970s, community filmmaking has a long history of challenging the power structures inherent in filmmaking practices and dissolving the traditional boundaries between subject and filmmaker. Our panel will share their experiences of making collaborative community led work, discussing the challenges of representation, inclusivity and advocacy and exploring best practices for this approach to storytelling.
