Audio Playground

Miranda July writes that the experience of art can act as an assignment to make art, “in the same way that the ocean gives the assignment of breathing deeply, and kissing instructs us to stop thinking.” In Sarah Geis’ Audio Playground courses she encourages just this, using weird and wonderful audio pieces as prompts for work less concerned with perfection and more concerned with experimentation. In this session, she will share insights and audio from these low-stakes/high-risk audio courses – with the goal of helping producers rediscover one of their original motivations: fun. Note: bring a recorder, or a phone that records.
