This interactive installation by Sister Sylvester combines Bertolt Brecht’s theatrical practice and legacy with the scientific study of DNA to critique notions of purity and authorship. Over the course of this performance, the audience will view filmed elements drawing these threads together using forensic and archival research whilst being guided through some of these research methods themselves, creating a cocktail by the end which makes material the project’s call to not dismiss complex, sometimes unclear narratives for the promise of simple answers.
