Ticketing

Tickets FAQ

There are two types of tickets for Open City Documentary Festival – screenings and industry events. Our screenings are ticketed by our cinema venues and our industry events are ticketed via eventbrite. We also offer industry and student accreditation that provides you access to the festival.

If you have any questions about how to use your accreditation, please contact us.

Buying Tickets in Advance

If you would like to attend a screening, the easiest way to book a ticket in advance is online through our website. This will take you directly to the cinema’s booking page. You can also buy tickets in person at the cinema’s box office. Please note, each cinema only sells tickets for the screenings they are hosting so please check which venue is hosting your screening.

If you would like to attend an industry event, you can book in advance via our website. This will take you directly to the eventbrite booking page. Ticket sales will close at 23:30 the night before the event.

Buying Tickets on the Day

If you would like to purchase a ticket to the screening on the day, you can follow the same steps as above. Either purchase online or in person at the host cinema’s box office.

If you would like to purchase a ticket to an industry event on the day, you can purchase tickets at our Festival Hub Box Office at China Exchange. Please note, this box office only sells tickets for industry events. The box office opening times are below.

For buying a ticket on the day, you can pay in cash or by card at the box office. All industry events are £9 on the door. We advise you to arrive at least half an hour before the event to purchase your tickets. The Festival Hub box office opens half an hour before the start of the first industry session and closes half an hour after the start of the last session.

Ticket sales at the main box office will close 10 minutes before the start time and if you arrive after this, you will be directed up to the third floor to join the rush queue. If there are remaining tickets available, the rush queue will be let into the venue five minutes before the event starts on a first-come-first-served basis. Please note, you can only pay in cash at the rush queue box office so please ensure you bring cash with you if you are arriving close to the start time.
