Resisting the reactive nature of the 24-hour news cycle, this panel will explore alternative ways to engage with news stories, current affairs and political issues through creative documentary filmmaking approaches. Hear from a line-up of filmmakers about their creative solutions to telling these stories from the research process to ethical considerations and everything in between. The session will be hosted by filmmaker Charlie Shackleton and speakers include  Alyx Ayn Arumpac (Aswang), Sung-A Yoon (Overseas) and Cristina Ibarra (The Infiltrators).
